Out sick? Call the School

Call or Email the Attendance Secretary

Ms. Sandoval:

sick day

Where is the Attendance Office?

The attendance office is just to the right of the nurse's office and across the hall from Asst. Principal's Daws office.

Hours are 8:30-2:00, Monday - Friday.

If a student is absent, they should visit the attendance secretary the next day before class starts.

Attendance is Important

Attendance is taken in every single class. Students are marked as "in attendance", "tardy" or "absent." Absences need to be accounted for or a student is considered truant (unexcused absence).

Attendance is critical for our student's learning and also counts toward their citizenship status and ability to participate in school activities.

If your student is going to be absent, will be arriving late, or needs to leave early, please contact the attendance office directly at 415-749-3557.

Absent from School...

If your child is going to be absent from school for any reason, please contact the attendance office (415-749-3557) that morning so your child is not listed as truant (an unexcused absence). If there is no answer, leave a message with your name and number, your child's name, and the reason for the absence.

If you do not contact the school, the school will call your home to check on his/her status.

This is a list of permissible school absences HERE.

When you return to school, please have your child bring in a parent or guardian signed note explaining their absence. You may use this form HERE.

Leaving School Early...

If your student needs to leave school early for any reason they need to bring in a signed note from a parent or guardian and give it to the attendance office in the morning, before school starts. The attendance staff person will issue a "Permit to Leave School."

If the student is leaving during the middle of a class period, the student should show the permit to the teacher at the beginning of the period.

If your child is going to be absent, arriving late, or leaving early:

CALL 415-749-3557

(direct line to the Attendance Office)

Leave a message if there is no answer, including your name and the student's name (spell the last name), your contact phone number, and whether you are calling to report: 1) an absence, 2) a late arrival, or 3) an early leave.

When your student returns to school, please have them bring in a parent or guardian signed note explaining their absence. You may use this form HERE.
